So it seems I'm being able to combine work with a little bit of fun: at least these last days, after 'finishing' one more chapter for my essay, I let myself enjoy my birthday, spend a day with friends and go to a concert.

B-day was awesome! Had a complete day out -breakfast and lunch included-, managed to take my mom out to a japanese restaurant and go out with friends for a drink (my treat! XD). I even was tempted to buy a new encyclopedia, which for some reason my friends found utterly hilarius ¬_¬;
Oh! And I can't forget about my new little pet!plant :3 I really hope it'll survive my cares...

For me looks like I had a mini-vacation, even if it's been only three days. That can give you an idea on how every day looks almost the same than the day before now that I decided to take the job so seriously -wait, maybe I've finally grown up! At 25... not that bad, ne? XD;;

Here you are a few things I'd like to share, in case you don't know them yet ;P

-The Yoshida Brothers (talking about that concert I mentioned before...).

-Gothic Pirates doing the belly-dancing with swords

-And Girly, a webcomic by Josh Lesnick. I don't usually get attracted to yuri plots but this is so surreal, cute and funny that I really recommend you to take a look XD

And of course, and because I'm always late, you should go join [livejournal.com profile] saiyuki_manga[livejournal.com profile] jibii, [livejournal.com profile] athena8 and [livejournal.com profile] moshesque are doing a wonderful job translating the latest scans of Saiyuki Reload :3 There're not enough words of gratitude for this.

Now back to reality, dear people~
*inserts hiatus mode again :( *

How to describe my day: full of joice would fit quite well. Right now it's the only moment of relax I've had today, which is great! Last year I spent all day long in bed with a horrible fever but today I had fun and presents to compensate the last two years XD

I had received so many japanese stile presents I think I could open my own shop next year -my friends know me too well... and I think they find appealing to have another kind of things to buy me instead of books ;P For one thing now I have a cute set for sake, another set of beautiful chopsticks in wood and nacre, a book on ukiyo-e that I wanted to buy time ago and a sumi-e picture dedicated to me! X3 As they seem to be in love with the chopsticks I decided to keep them for dinners in group: it'll be awesome to see them trying to eat with them *smirks* And they bought me JET last CD!! ^.^ I'll say in my defense I treated them all to chocolates and alcohol.

Meal with my mother was great too. Perhaps things like this are what I like the most about these days. She even lighted two candles over a strawberry mini-cake and made me wish something <3

But I also had work to do, and too much. Monday in Madrid was in the end another excuse to increase the number of projects we already had. Many interesting ideas and enthusiasm about new fields of research and of course very few people to do the job. At least Madrid looked beautiful from the taxi.

In fact I feel quite stressed this week but hey, B-day was awesome and with proper arguments I'm easily distracted from work worries, so YAY!
