Counting
Eleven. His watch showed shameless the numbers.
Once upon a time someone (like him) had a broken clock. One immutable hour and twenty lost minutes. He looked that clock once a day. Twice in the rain.
He looked at his watch for the second time that night. Eleven. And twenty-three. Five games. And three bills would be paid. One box of beers. Two bags of food. One profitable night.
He was used to count.
Six beers on the table. An easy smile. Two more girls sliding to Gojyo’s side.
One look.
Red on green.
One room.
No more counting tonight.
