First of all, here are some pics from october, when I visited the Holmes' museum. I quite liked the decoration of some corners and I even got a pic with pseudo-Watson (not that he looked at all like Watson should -not even the clothes!- but well, let's not be too picky about it *ahem*).
So this is how 221B Baker Street looks like nowadays =>> )
I'd love to be in London this weekend for the Sherlock fan meet-up~

Also, I'm not sure how I got to find out about this Versus series but they're hilarious. I'm not sure either what kind of association can result in a Saw vs. Sherlock Holmes duel... Guess some minds work in mysterious ways:

I must admit I feel a little affronted by the treatment of dear Watson here...

(Ps: You should also watch the one about Frodo vs Harry Potter XD)

And finally, gorgeous Sherlock fics of the last two weeks:

* The Velveteen Doctor by [livejournal.com profile] lantean_drift, in which John is like a bright, brilliant flash of colour in an otherwise greyscale world for Sherlock.

* Fearful Symmetry by [livejournal.com profile] irisbleufic, in which there's John/Sherlock, Harry, Mycroft, Sarah, Mrs. Hudson, et al. and it's absolutely delightful.

* The Whore of Babylon Was a Perfectly Nice Girl by out_there. This. You should read it if you haven't yet. It's not the version of Sherlock I usually picture in my head but it's awesome. Angsty and hot.

* The Heart In The Whole by [livejournal.com profile] verityburns. WIP in which Sherlock is blind and John helps. All kinds of lovely and oh god, the UST!

Have I mentioned they're gorgeous? Because they are <3

Should be training right now but I don't feel like it, too lazy today -...my sensei would smack me on the head but, in my defense, I'll say I had to wake up too early for my taste and it's awfully windy to go anywhere. On the other hand, it's being a weird summer: nor vacation abroad with friends like other years and, surprisingly enough, nor archaeological excavation either. I've been working there every summer during the last eight years, with its highs and lows, so it's kind of disconcerting to think about an August working at home. Don't get me wrong, I'm gonna miss some people but it's liberating to count with more time to work on my thesis: I'm reaching that point where all I want is to finish the damn big thing. And this way I could book a few days to relax.

And yet, of course I have my little pleasures: Of course, I'm utterly in love with the new BBC Sherlock XD Can't remember who said it but it's a great moment to be a Holmes' fan! <3 I couldn't imagine I was going to like Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman so much! they're perfect for the roles and Oh, all the slash potential:

-It's fantastic.
-Do you know you do that out loud?
-Sorry, I'll shut up.
-No, it's...fine.

♥♥♥

Which reminds me, [livejournal.com profile] sadynax is killing me with her lovely chibis ♥

I'm also enjoying immensely the amount of fics this series's already producing~

But, here, have two Holmes/Watson big bang fics I loved (not Sherlock's universe):

-A study in midnight: crossover with A Study in Emerald.

-Roll away your stone

Now, I really should try to be productive for a little while longer...

Homotography. Someone posted a Jude Law's photoshoot and voilà! link to beautifully sexy website~

In spite of the blog's title and the pretty headshots under the cut, not all the pics are homoerotic. It looks like every photographer in this blog has his different and original style but in general, most of them are just awesome. I especially liked Willy Vanderperre though I guess it's a site to visit with some time. So many photoshoots, so few hours a day... )

Bear in mind that many of them are NOT WORKSAFE~

Hello again, dear f-list!

How're you? I'd like to keep up to date with you but every passing day seems harder, with thesis and lessons and all... Still I'm hopeful enough to think I'll regain some balance some time in the near future, who knows.

Lately I've been kind of lethargic and too focused on working. I'd like to finish my thesis for june next year, which means some days I'm a bundle of stress while others I'm all 'no worries, everything's gonna be all right'. It's kind of distressing in general -_- Luckily my friends arrive every now and then to take me out and prevent me from going crazy.

The most I've been doing in my leisure time is dust my ACD books and lurk around the Sherlock Holmes' comms when I find the energy to remain in front of my laptop at the end of the day. And just when I thought I had overcome the holmesian fandom, Guy Ritchie's movie appears in all its slashiest glory and there I go again. Not that I'm complaining, mind you *g* )

In other news, I just bought a lovely wallet, handmade by the talented [livejournal.com profile] louiselux with a Pride and Prejudice book cover from a 1813 edition. I'm pleased as punch X3

By the way, if you didn't watch the short film The Butterfly Circus yet, you absolutely must! Beautiful piece of work ♥ The story is an ode to personal overcoming but every single one of the characters is so full of beauty is overwhelming. It's around 20 min. long so there are two parts on YouTube:

Hope this is the end of my hiatus~

I'm enjoying this show immensely! even if it's breaking my heart to no end!! D:

But Spoilers through season 5x01 and 5x02 )

PPS: The secret point of this season should be THIS => [livejournal.com profile] missyjack's meta on redemption narratives in Supernatural).
kaoticwords: (Tree)
No storm clouds today :)

Instead, let's share awesome things that doesn't get old:

+ Supernatural - Eye of the Tiger: Dean, you big dork! XD

I know this vid is everything but new but I found it yesterday and I'm still LOLing. One of the best things I've seen lately!

On a side note, I'm completely hooked to Supernatural! You know that moment when you discover a new fandom and it's full of wonderful fics and meta... I'm exactly there ♥ And as I only began to watch the third season, I still have many eps before the GREAT angst arrives~

+ The Lover by Marguerite Duras: In French class, we're comparing the book and the film and I'm speechless because they're both absolutely gorgeous.

I watched the film some years ago and I liked it, but now that we're studying it bit by bit, I'm amazed at the little details. I'll try to read the novel in French when I'm not too tired.

+ Get Backers: After reccing it to a friend, I've been rewatching the anime from time to time. Ban and Ginji never fail to make me smile and the Ban/Ginji ship manifesto reminds why~

So, there. Enough for today ♥

[livejournal.com profile] go_exchange has begun! YAY! ♥

Talking about what, here I leave you with an awesome fanart of Crowley posted some days ago in [livejournal.com profile] lower_tadfield, a tasty appetizer before Christmas XD
kaoticwords: (GO: Ineffable~)
Memes' Time: yay for TEA! )

One of those things you should read if you haven't yet:

Good Omens fic Twofish by The Lab:
sweet, hot, hilarious and very in character. Just what I needed today :D
It's so nice to find awesome fics I didn't know yet :3

And remembering others that I always love:
Naked and Unashamed by [livejournal.com profile] louiselux, because I love her innocent and persuasive Crowley as much as her writing ♥

I'm keeping the new Reload's new chapter for later tonight *g*
kaoticwords: (Kazahaya)
So it seems I'm being able to combine work with a little bit of fun: at least these last days, after 'finishing' one more chapter for my essay, I let myself enjoy my birthday, spend a day with friends and go to a concert.

B-day was awesome! Had a complete day out -breakfast and lunch included-, managed to take my mom out to a japanese restaurant and go out with friends for a drink (my treat! XD). I even was tempted to buy a new encyclopedia, which for some reason my friends found utterly hilarius ¬_¬;
Oh! And I can't forget about my new little pet!plant :3 I really hope it'll survive my cares...

For me looks like I had a mini-vacation, even if it's been only three days. That can give you an idea on how every day looks almost the same than the day before now that I decided to take the job so seriously -wait, maybe I've finally grown up! At 25... not that bad, ne? XD;;

Here you are a few things I'd like to share, in case you don't know them yet ;P

-The Yoshida Brothers (talking about that concert I mentioned before...).

-Gothic Pirates doing the belly-dancing with swords

-And Girly, a webcomic by Josh Lesnick. I don't usually get attracted to yuri plots but this is so surreal, cute and funny that I really recommend you to take a look XD

And of course, and because I'm always late, you should go join [livejournal.com profile] saiyuki_manga[livejournal.com profile] jibii, [livejournal.com profile] athena8 and [livejournal.com profile] moshesque are doing a wonderful job translating the latest scans of Saiyuki Reload :3 There're not enough words of gratitude for this.

Now back to reality, dear people~
*inserts hiatus mode again :( *
kaoticwords: (How to annoy Tsuzuki #138~)
Interesting things I found today:

-House new season: clips from the first ep *squee*

-Hey Jude by Hugh Laurie XDDD

-"Podfics": the new format of fanfics that certainly will help me with my pronunciation (there's no better teacher than the Internet).

-Holmes/Watson extra sweet fanfic: Darned Socks by [livejournal.com profile] elena_c and its cute fanart by [livejournal.com profile] elina_kivimaki.

-Also by [livejournal.com profile] elina_kivimaki: Holmes Watson and the tent. Actually ALL her H/W art is marvellously funny.

[Edit]: -Lovely Lawful Drug's fanart by [livejournal.com profile] r_chan :3 I missed Rikuo and Kazahaya! [/edit]

-------------
It might not be evident after that but this morning I tasted the end of vacation to all its splendour -.- (TBC).

Bed now: all my body hurts badly due to the ministrations of my chiropractor -but thank you, Choi-san, for making me able of training again! T_T
kaoticwords: (*Grins*)
It arrived!! The book I ordered two weeks ago, Wicked Gentlemen, is finally here and looks SOOO good *pets her pretty new book*. I highly recommend you to read the excerpt from the publisher's page: I got hooked on page 16 or so >:3

Actually, it seems I'm recovering from my last hiatus with novels 'cause recently I've finished The sign of the four, The seven per cent solution and The shadow of the wind, which I left some months ago and I don't really know why but it surely had something to do with my lack of time. I even bought Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami -wanted to read it since I was in Italy and finally I'll do it next month. Have you read it? So far I've heard good and bad opinions about it.
But first I'm reading Wicked Gentlemen *G*

And if you think that's not enough to bounce: Stigma arrived two days ago. In French, so I could study with something more appealing than my text book.

The scans from Gaiden 3 were the cherry on top *still drooling over Goujun*.
kaoticwords: (Captain Jack)
I love House. I love Hugh Laurie. And I love Robert Sean Leonard (since I was 15 *sweatdrops*).

I think I don't need to say anything else :P but, lately, maybe I need to watch less TV...

Wilson on crack...

Wilson on crack 2... poor Wilson...

Mini-vacation in two days~

Ps: Let me introduce Zotius )

V for...

kaoticwords: (Kubo-chan)
Thanks to my knee I spent the whole weekend at home -by the way, in the end I went to the doctor and now my leg is all bandaged to keep me from moving it :( Luckily I could walk normally by the end of the week.

The thing is that as I couldn't go out, friends came to my place and we watched V for Vendetta. And all I can say it's that now it's one of my favourites films! It reminds me a lot of 1984 by Orwell and Fahrenheit 451 by Bradbury. Though it's scary when you think what a dangerous weapon the fear is. Even more when I think that Spain was a dictatorship 30 years ago...

But everything about this film is great. Hugo Weaving is an awesome V and he plays without a single facial expression! The visual effects also made me sparkle, and of course the fighting scenes! I have to buy the comic XD

Now back to work~

AMV RECS

Jan. 21st, 2007 02:09 am
kaoticwords: (Yuko)
I should be writing two exercises about boring Psychology of Education for a stupid certificate I don't even like.
Well, it couldn't be helped...

AMV REC LIST

aka= the ones I never get tired to watch.

TOKYO BABYLON - X/1999

Betrayal by Myka -- I think this was the first Seishirou/Subaru amv I saw and I almost cried with it. It's incredible the number of songs that fit perfectly this pair; Betrayal is one of those that can't be listened to without thinking about S/S.

Still feels like the first time by Nausicaa -- If you know The Rasmus First day of my life song, you'll know it could be sung by Subaru XD; Nausicaa did an awesome job with this.

Gloomy Sunday by Nausicaa -- Of course, Sarah McLachlan couldn't be left out. I always thought Possession or Do what you have to do were the best songs for Seishirou/Subaru fandom. I didn't know Gloomy Sunday would fit them just the same. Warning here if you don't know this song for extreme dose of angst (yeah, even more than the usual...). I don't know what this song has that make me hurt so much ;_;

SAIYUKI

Where are we going again? by Moony13 -- GREAT. That sums up more or less everything about this amv. The song: The Way by Fastball. What's better than a song about a journey for these punks?

Cleanse by syncopatedid -- A very goo job with the ever present rain in Saiyuki.

Mambo #3589 by [livejournal.com profile] guardian_yugi -- What are you waiting to see this amv? The ikkou would make quite a dancing quartet~

Hakkai Poppins! by [livejournal.com profile] guardian_yugi -- Saiyuki on crack. Be careful if you're drinking something...

Let's Go by [livejournal.com profile] guardian_yugi -- Talking about crackness, never thought Shania Twain would sound so good XD

Memories by gokusazokami -- Gojyo/Hakkai amv with a beautiful song by Within Temptation. This is one of my fav.

WILD ADAPTER

I'm with you by gokusanzokami -- This should be a Manga Music Video. Good song for Kubota and Tokitoh. This video is plainly cute in the way this two can be :3

LOVELESS

Here I'd say [livejournal.com profile] evercool wins the internet for her wonderful Loveless videos :3 They're all at her site in ANIMEMUSICVIDEOS.ORG My favs are:

Just a little crush -- Soubi/Ritsuka

Lovers of Loving Love -- Which I enthusiastically recommend you. It's one of those vids that makes me smile no matter the day ^.^

Fighter and Sacrifice --Another Soubi/Ritsuka. The artist's comment says everything about the song.

GET BACKERS

Altistic amv's section. Here you'll find a list of GB amvs and two extra of Yami no Matsuei. These Lines of Lightning could be the best Ban/Ginji amv I've ever seen and I had a good laugh with Get Backers Picture Show XD

YAMI NO MATSUEI

Away from me by kinkyToast -- Evanescence and Yami no Matsuei.

I like the way by thesnakechild -- Muraki/Tsuzuki. I don't usually like this pairing 'cause it gives me the creeps but, hell, Muraki is a sexy bastard XD And I can totally imagine him singing this song, and with that voice~ *purrs*

**************
Those exercises still waiting for me... *le sigh*
kaoticwords: (Yuko)
YEP! I have it! A-sensei decided to make us an "exam" today and I passed it ^__^ It's not that I'm thinking about becoming a jujitsu pro all of a sudden buuuut YAY FOR THE GREEN BELT! ^o^

This matter about the belt made me forget for a while about more serious matters, aka: English exams. The speaking part is this saturday and I really don't know how it'll go @_@ Theoretically, it will last 15 minutes but they can ask me almost whatever they want about my life. I also have to compare photographs and discuss some related subject with another candidate. Then examiners will ask me another surreal question that I've probably never thought about and the first part will be over. I just hope my pronunciation not to be too weird -_-;

--But I'll worry about that tomorrow morning ;P Right now:

FIC REC --- And death shall have no erection --> As flippant as it can sound, it's one of the most original and amusing smut fics I've read in the last months. I was searching for Saiyuki fics and I arrived there. It looks like lately everywhere I go, there are vampires waiting... But not that I'm complaining XDDD
And really, I would have liked to hear Louis talking like that in some book of the Vampire Chronicles *giggles*
kaoticwords: (Caught you! XD)
Exam revision gives me more time than usual to read all that I always like reading because for some twisted reason the pleasure of reading increases when there're more important things to do at the moment ;)

So here's a Get Backers fic rec:

"Rock the Boat"

'cause I began reading and couldn't stop laughing till the end, and for sure that's a good thing *g*.

And now I'll be a good girl and keep on revising.
