...another day?
Apr. 14th, 2005 12:40 amJust when I thought it was going to be a normal day, I found myself as an active part in a KUT ritual! YAY!
A week ago I didn't even know about that word, used for Korean shamanism, but then I saw this announcement about a Korean's religion conference in the Oriental Art Museum. It was supposed to be a conference, yes; but when I went this morning they told me that the program had changed and the conference had been the day before, so today it was going to take place the representation of the rites explained yesterday *__*
Basically this one: http://www.asianinfo.org/asianinfo/korea/perform/salpuri.htm
I just can imagine what an anthropologist could feel when is living other people's traditions.
When the old shaman woman has taken my hand to put on me that kind of kimono used in the rite I was really amazed *__* A second later I was dancing with her!
It was a ritual to attract fortune and prosperity leaving behind the bad things: who knows... Maybe this year ends better than it began \^o^/
